| 英文描述 | This disease is most common in the Pacific coast states and is caused by the ingestion of the metacercaria of NANOPHYETUS SALMINCOLA in infected salmon or trout. The metacercaria of this fluke carries both NEORICKETTSIA HELMINTHOECA and the ELOKOMIN fluke fever agent. These two agents concurrently cause Salmon Poisoning. Incubation period of 5 days is followed by fever progressing to hypothermia and death if untreated. Dx by finding N. SALMINCOLA eggs in the feces and NEORICKETTSIA organisms in the cytoplasm of reticuloendothelial cells of lymphoid tissue. |
